GRAND RAPIDS, MI – A woman charged in a fatal hit-and-run crash pleaded guilty in federal court to an unrelated sex-trafficking charge
Shauntelle Blackmon, 23, pleaded guilty to sex trafficking of a child – punishable by at least 10 years in prison and up to life.
She entered the plea on Wednesday, Oct. 29, before U.S. District Judge Hala Jarbou in Lansing. Jarbou set sentencing for March 4.
Mecca Orr, 48, died in an Oct. 6 crash in Muskegon Heights. Blackmon was charged with failure to stop at the scene of an accident causing serious impairment.
She awaits trial in Muskegon County Circuit Court after she waived her right to a preliminary examination this week in Muskegon County District Court.
