A year that included a call-up to the U.S. National Team and his first MLS All-Star Game just keeps getting better for Orlando City defender Alex Freeman.
On Thursday, Freeman, 21, was named 2025 MLS Young Player of the Year. He is the first player to win the honor while playing for Orlando City.
Freeman contributed six goals and three assists in Orlando City regular-season play in 2025, his first MLS season as a full-time player. Among MLS defenders, he was tied for second most goals and he was fourth in key passes with 42.
The graduate of Plantation American Heritage also played with the USNT in the Gold Cup, starting all six matches in the tournament.
