EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Crews are responding to a brush fire east of Colorado Springs on Thursday.

According to El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, the fire is currently around 80 acres and off of Big Springs Road, east of Colorado Springs near Ellicott and Yoder.

Ellicott Fire is the lead agency on the fire.

EPSO said an evacuation order is in place for residents living on Big Springs East of Calhan Hwy, West of Lauppe Rd and North of HWY 94 “due to a FIRE near 31415 Big Springs Road.” Residents in the area are being told to evacuate now.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department says three of their brush trucks and a battalion chief have been dispatched to assist as of around 12:25.
