ATLANTA, Georgia — A major shift is under way in soda fountains across the country: Dr Pepper is being removed from many Coca‑Cola–controlled venues, replaced in some locations by Coca‑Cola’s revived Mr. Pibb, Bloomberg is reporting .

The change follows a Texas court ruling that terminated Keurig Dr Pepper’s longstanding distribution agreement with Reyes Coca‑Cola Bottling, which had handled Dr Pepper syrup supply to restaurants, theaters and other soda fountains, according to Bloomberg.

In practice, many Coke‑affiliated venues are already swapping out Dr Pepper for Mr. Pibb, a spicy cherry–flavored soda that Coca‑Cola has relaunched with a boost in caffeine, The Economic Times said .
