SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
One of downtown Sacramento's largest entertainment centers will close its doors after almost eight years in business.
Punch Bowl Social, a multi-floor restaurant venue that offers bowling, karaoke, pool, shuffleboard, darts and various other arcade games, first opened in December 2017.
The 25,000 square-foot business connects with the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel and is considered a core attraction to the city's Downtown Commons (DOCO) area, which houses the Sacramento Kings' arena, the Golden 1 Center.
But Punch Bowl recently filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice with California's Employment Development Department. The WARN Act requires employers to give 60 days' notice to employees before a mass layoff, plant closure or relocation.
