Students in Quebec will now have to attend school with their faces uncovered.
The Legault government passed Bill 94 on Thursday, aimed at strengthening secularism in the Quebec school system.
The elected members of the CAQ government voted in favour, as did the elected members of the Parti Québécois, while the members of the official opposition Liberal and Québec solidaire voted against.
