MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The woman convicted of killing her mother in Blue Mounds was ordered Thursday to serve a lifetime commitment in an institution.
Sierra Schoonover was sentenced in Dane County Circuit Court.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services will determine what facility Schoonover will be placed in.
Schoonover had initially pleaded guilty, and her plea was amended to be not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.
Schoonover, 31, was charged with first-degree intentional homicide by use of a dangerous weapon in the killing of her mother, Heather Schoonover.
Authorities arrested Sierra Schoonover in April after neighbors reported she and her mother were fighting in their front yard. By the time police arrived, the women had gone inside the house and officers
