Forward Martin Necas signed an eight-year contract extension with the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday.

Financial terms were not disclosed by the Avalanche, however TSN reported the deal was worth $92 million and includes $60.4 million in signing bonuses.

The extension spans through the 2033-34 season for Necas, who would have been an unrestricted free agent after this season.

“(I’m) happy to get this done. I’m excited for the times ahead,” Necas said on Thursday. “Now I can just focus on playing hockey, winning hockey games and doing whatever it takes to bring a Cup back here to Colorado.”

Necas, who will turn 27 in January, bolted out of the blocks by compiling an eight-game point streak (six goals, six assists) to the start the season. He has 13 points (seven goals, six assists) in 11
