A formerly convicted felon in Sioux Falls has now been charged with attempted murder after a parking ramp shooting earlier this month.
Mohamed Hassan Sheikh, 31, was charged Oct. 29 after opening fire Oct. 18 in the parking garage located at 10 th Avenue and Mall, near the downtown bus depot.
Sioux Falls Police Department spokesperson Aaron Benson said Sheikh was part of an incident in which two groups “exchanged gunfire,” causing many people to “flee” or hide behind vehicles.
After studying video surveillance, court documents say Sheikh was identified as firing multiple gunshots toward people.
Sheikh has been charged with attempted murder in the first degree and two counts of aggravated assault. Court documents show he also has been charged with a firearm possession after a violent
