The Connor Stalions sign-stealing saga is now also over for Central Michigan University.

The NCAA handed down punishments Thursday to the CMU football program and four former staffers for their involvement in a 2023 incident where Stalions, then a member of Michigan’s coaching staff, was on the Chippewas’ sideline at Spartan Stadium during Michigan State’s season opener.

As part of a negotiated settlement with the governing body of college athletics, CMU football has been placed on probation for two years and fined $30,000 plus 1% of the football program’s budget.

The NCAA launched its investigation in October 2023 when photos of Stalions, wearing a disguise, began circulating on social media.
