CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Cranston Police Department said a suspect was taken into custody after a stabbing that occurred on Wakefield Avenue Thursday.

Police said the victim traveled to the hospital and later told officers that his girlfriend stabbed him at a residence.

A suspect was then taken into custody by Providence police on Potters Avenue.

The incident was under investigation.
