Minnesota-based rocker Brian Setzer has canceled his upcoming tour with the Stray Cats due to "serious illness."

Just a couple of days after the band released its first new music in six years, it has called off a monthlong tour that was originally scheduled to begin on Oct. 25 in Michigan. There wasn't a date planned in the Twin Cities.

"I'm heartbroken to share, due to serious illness, I am unable to perform and very regrettably have to cancel our Stray Cats tour," Setzer said in a statement this week. "I've been trying everything I can to go on and do these shows, but it is just not possible."

Setzer did not describe his illness in the statement, but he shared details about his autoimmune disease earlier this year.
