Nashville’s Metro Action Commission is activating its contingency plan to keep local aid programs running as funding from state agencies runs dry.
In a news release on Oct. 30, the Metro Action Commission flagged that it had been notified by two state agencies about “disruptions to key funding streams that support vital community services.” The announcement came as the federal government shutdown entered its 30 th day.
The office runs several safety net programs for Nashvillians experiencing poverty, offering resources like rent and utility assistance
