WEBSTER PARISH, La. (KSLA) - The State Fire Marshall (SFM) deputies are investigating a house fire that claimed the life of a 66-year-old Doyline woman.

On Oct. 28, at 10:13 p.m., the fatal fire was reported on the 100 block of Miller Road in Doyline. Now, the State Fire Marshall is investigating the incident.

At this time, SFM is unsure if the residence was equipped with a working fire alarm.

DPS Principal Assistant Chief Bryan J Adams urges all Louisiana residents to protect their homes with functioning smoke alarms.

“If you don’t have one or need assistance with installation, our Operation Save-A-Life program offers free smoke alarms and installation services," says Adams.
