‘Stranger danger’ reported at Oakland County school bus routes

Detectives with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office are investigating two reports of a suspicious person parked near two bus stops for Spring Mills Elementary School in Highland Township on Thursday.

The reported incidents happened during the morning bus runs for Spring Mills, located at 3150 Harvey Lake Road, the sheriff’s office said. School families were notified via email by Huron Valley Schools officials.

In the first incident, reported at around 8 a.m., the suspect was parked in a vehicle which one student described as a gray car, and described by another student as a tan-colored van, the sheriff’s office said. The suspect reportedly exited the vehicle, which prompted the students to run into a house to alert a parent. The suspect and vehicle were gone when the parent went outdoors
