BOISE, Idaho — Residents in the Boise Bench will soon have a new opportunity for summer fun, as construction begins on the pool at Whitney Elementary.
Elementary school students joined Mayor Lauren McLean and school district leaders at a groundbreaking ceremony on Oct. 30. The project will cost approximately $9.5 million, with the city footing the bill.
"This project has been a longtime coming and I know our residents, especially those living on the Boise Bench, are excited to once again have an outdoor pool nearby," said Boise Mayor Lauren McLean in a news release. "This pool will provide a place for kids and adults to hone their swimming skills in a safe environment and create lasting memories for families for years to come.
