Police in Mwanza district have arrested 22-year-old Godfrey Frank Banda on suspicion of having sex with a 15-year-old girl, who also raped her.

Mwanza police spokesperson Hope Kasakula confirmed this and said that Banda, who works as a music distributor, lured the girl into a secret relationship with him at his shop and began having sex with her until he got her pregnant.

Kasakula said that when the girl discovered she was pregnant, she told Banda about the matter, but he refused and told the girl that he could not marry her because he was already married.

This upset the girl, who told her parents, who informed the police, and they arrested Banda.

Godfrey Frank Banda comes from the village of Chikolosa and is the main chieftain of Kanduku in the Mwanza district.
