Major Paramount layoffs that began on Wednesday have hit local CBS station KDKA-TV, leading to a dozen impacted jobs and scheduling changes for one program at the station.
The cuts, a spokesperson for CBS Pittsburgh said, include the layoffs of on-air personalities Katie O’Malley, a reporter with “Pittsburgh Today Live”; Kelly Dzanaj, a “Talk Pittsburgh” co-host; and Lisa Smith, host of “Intersections.”
“Intersections,” a weekly community affairs show launched by Ms. Smith in February 2023, will move to airing monthly. “The Talk” will continue as a daily show in its current timeslot, per the spokesperson.
Part of a restructuring led by CEO David Ellison, who joined Paramount in August, about 1,000 jobs held by United States-based Paramount workers are expected to be impacted this week
