The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has sought additional information from the US on the alleged 26/11 accused Tahawwur Rana after finding fresh evidence against him on the basis of his interrogation.

Sources privy to the matter informed that queries related to additional details on the case were sent to the US earlier this month under the provisions of the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT).

Fresh evidence against Rana was found after his interrogation, therefore a series of questions had been sent to the US authorities under the MLAT, sources said.

There is suspicion that Rana may have been involved in other terror activities apart from the Mumbai terror attack.

He was extradited to India on April 10 and is currently in the Tihar Jail under judicial custody, where he had been
