A 4-year-old child was found walking on the Thruway at dusk this week in Upstate New York.
A driver called 911 around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday after finding a child on the side of the New York State Thruway in Silver Creek, according to the New York State Police. The motorist pulled over on Interstate 90 west and kept the young child away from traffic, troopers said.
The speed limit on most of the busy Thruway is 65 mph.
While the 4-year-old was walking on the Thruway, Child Protective Services workers were making an unannounced visit to the child’s home, troopers said. That’s when the child’s parents discovered the 4-year-old was missing, they said.
CPS was searching the yard of the home when they saw emergency lights flashing on the Thruway, troopers said.
Luckily, the child was not injure
