B.C. Lions owner Amar Doman was pitching the idea Thursday morning of packing the B.C. Place stands Saturday afternoon for his team’s Western semifinal against the Calgary Stampeders. He oftentimes sounded more like a football fan than a football businessman.
“We’ve got to get over this hump,” Doman said. “We’ve been kind of around things. We’ve had different player changes. There’s no excuses, really.
“(First-year head coach) Buck Pierce has got this team under control. He keeps them level. The locker room listens to him, and they’re a team. If one side is lacking, the other side picks them up. I really like what I’m seeing. I don’t think I’ve been more excited about a team since we’ve had the ownership than the team we have today.
