KENNEWICK, Wash. – Multiple local agencies responded to a call about a possible house fire Thursday afternoon on Edison Avenue.
Crews arrived at the scene around 12:30 p.m. The fire was burning through a detached garage behind the home. Inside the garage, officials discovered flammable materials which exacerbated the fire.
Kennewick Fire and other local partners extinguished the flames in less than 10 minutes.
Kennewick Fire Chief Michael Heffner shared some positive news.
“No occupants in the detached garage at the time of the fire. No injuries. Everybody safe and accounted for. No reports of any four legged animals missing either which is always a good thing,” Heffner said.
Kennewick Police closed off South Edison Street between West Seventh Avenue and Fourth Avenue to ensure crews
