(NewsNation) — Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is planning another major speech to military members, NewsNation has learned.

Hegseth previously gathered senior military staff for a speech where he talked about "warrior ethos" and physical fitness standards.

During the meeting, Hegseth told leadership he did not want to see "fat generals."

His next speech is expected to focus on arms acquisitions and sustainment.

A defense official tells NewsNation the focus is on removing red tape to make sure "warfighters have the best equipment possible."

The speech will be at Fort McNair National Defense University on Friday, November 7, NewsNation was told.
