One of the main reasons the Blue Jays are a win away from the third World Series title in franchise history has been their ability to beat some of Major League Baseball’s top starting pitchers.
Over the last month, the Jays defeated a who’s who of big-league arms. In the American League Division Series they disposed of Max Fried and Carlos Rodon. The following round it was Logan Gilbert, George Kirby and Luis Castillo.
Through five games of the World Series they have already got the best of two-time Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell and Shohei Ohtani . However, there’s still somebody the Jays have yet to figure out and he happens to be the one standing in the way of their first championship since 1993.
