MADISON (WKOW) — The government shutdown is set to impact more than 40 million Americans, including 700,000 residents in Wisconsin, who will lose their food assistance benefits this weekend. Congress remains deadlocked over both a budget bill and the issue of food assistance.
Wisconsin Democrats have called on the federal government to release SNAP funding. Some Wisconsin Republicans have had different takes when it comes to where this money should come from.
