BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - On Thursday, officials from the George County Sheriff’s Office announced 67-year-old Leon E. Lambert III was sentenced to life in prison for the 2023 killing of his wife.

He was convicted of First-Degree Murder in George County Circuit Court.

In August 2023, George County deputies responded to a call for help at a home on Ashton Drive, where they found a woman who was dead . That woman was later identified as Pamela Lambert, Leon Lambert’s wife.

Lambert surrendered shortly after and was charged with one count of first degree murder.

“This is why we do this job: to stand for justice, protect victims, and bring closure to those who have suffered unimaginable loss,” George County Sheriff Mitchell Mixon said.
