ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Volunteers hustle to keep shelves stocked at the Midtown Assistance Center on Spring Street, one of many food pantries in metro Atlanta with empty shelves and an abundant number of people in need.
“As of Saturday, November 1, 1.4 million Georgians who would be relying on SNAP benefits for November will not receive their benefits. It is something people rely upon to receive nutritious food to feed their families,” Midtown Assistance Center Executive Director Jenny Jobson said.
One of those people that will lose SNAP benefits and struggle to put food on the table is Valrie Sanders.
“We’re worried, I’m fearful and I’m afraid that a lot of us won’t get the nourishment that we need because as you know in the elderly community there is a lot of sickness,” S
