FARGO — Before Kittson County Central’s Minnesota Section 8 9-man championship game against Stephen-Argyle, head coach Cory Waling talked to his players about legacy.
“We talked about putting yourself in the annals of our team’s (history),” Waling said. “Making big plays.”
Junior Eli Muir knows his program’s history well.
He grew up going to Bearcats games. He was a freshman when the Storm beat Kittson County Central in the 2023 section semifinals, and a sophomore when it happened again in 2024.
“We’ve been kicked out the past two years by them in the playoffs, and I think we just wanted to get them (back),” Muir said.
Thursday afternoon at the Fargodome, Muir made sure his name would stand among those remembered in the “annals” of Bearcat history.
