Bruce County is reminding trail users that long gun (rifle) season for deer hunting starts Monday and goes until November 9th.
They say hunters and recreational users should take steps to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
The County says everyone using County forests must ensure they are visible and must be aware that others may be nearby.
They recommend you avoid using trails at dawn and dusk, and anytime there are limitations to visibility.
Wear high visibility clothing or hunter orange (hat, vest, scarf) and put high visibility items on your pets as well. Avoid beige, brown, white, or green clothing.
The County notes its bylaws require that all pets are on leash while using county forests.
They add hunters should avoid hunting along trails and in areas with active trail use
