A Flagler County woman faces a new charge this week: vehicular homicide.
Her boyfriend, 22-year-old Daniel Waterman, died in October from injuries sustained in a February crash.
“Our mission in life right now, you know, is a promise we made to Daniel to seek justice. Not just a slap on the hand, but real justice,” said Michael Gilman, Daniel Waterman’s grandfather.
Daniel Waterman’s family says the new charge is a step in the right direction.
Troopers say Daniel Waterman and 24-year-old Leigha Mumby were arguing on Interstate 95 when she allegedly told him, “I don’t care what happens, you’ll get what you deserve.” Moments later, Mumby is accused of intentionally swerving off the road. Daniel Waterman was hospitalized for months following the crash.
