LITTLE ROCK, Ark.— An Arkansas woman’s rare and peaceful encounter with a mountain lion is gaining widespread attention after her video reached more than 1.2 million views online.
Michelle Furr says the moment began when her husband thought he spotted a mountain lion on a hunting camera the night before. The image was too far away to be certain, and Furr admits she didn’t believe him at first — she assumed it was probably a fox.
The next day, while she was out hunting, the sounds of the woods began to change — deer blowing and squirrels chattering. That’s when she looked down and saw the mountain lion walking below her stand.
Furr says she stayed calm and quietly recorded the animal as it moved through the area before settling nearby. The mountain lion eventually relaxed, grooming itsel
