SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The Notre Dame football team is back in action this Saturday to face rival Boston College.
It’ll be the 28th all-time meeting between the two schools in what has been dubbed the Holy War.
While the No. 12 Irish are big favorites this year against the 1-7 Eagles, this has been a great series historically.
It began back in 1975 with Notre Dame winning the first four matchups, including in 1992 where the Irish had their biggest win in the series beating the Eagles 54-7. However, the Eagles picked up their first win the following year and gave the Irish their only loss of the season.
Since then, they’ve each had streaks of multiple wins, with the Irish on a current nine-game winning streak.
Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman talked about the history of this mat
