SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — A bill heading to the governor's office could help craft brewers and distillers grow business by updating state regulations.
The plan could create a Class 3 distiller license and self-distribution exemption. It also clarifies that using third-party platforms to deliver liquor is not illegal reselling, transferring, or exchanging of alcoholic drinks.
Senate Bill 618 would allow craft beer license holders to offer rewards and loyalty programs like mug clubs for customers as well.
"In addition, in 2019, we created a cocktails to go statute with a sunset. Senate Bill 618 removes that sunset and makes that a permanent program," said Rep. Bob Rita (D-Blue Island). "It clarifies what cocktails are to go."
