Gayle King is expected to leave “CBS Mornings” after more than a decade with the news program.
Several sources claim the journalist will step down after finishing out the term of her current contract , which is up in May 2026, per Variety .
However, it may not be a complete goodbye as King, 70, may potentially take on a new role within the network’s division that is currently going through an internal shake-up due to Paramount’s $8.4 billion merger with Skydance Media.
The outlet added that King may wind up with a deal to produce her own content for the network similar to Norah O’Donnell, who previously anchored “CBS Evening News” until she stepped down in January and now is a senior correspondent for “CBS News.”
