HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) - The owners of an iconic Hartford clothing store that has served customers for more than 100 years are relocating their business after being unable to reach a lease agreement with their landlord.

Ron and Jody Morneault will close Morneault’s Stackpole Moore Tryon at its current 10,000-square-foot Trumbull Street location in January and reopen in a smaller space on Asylum Street this spring.

Ron Morneault bought the store in 2007 and combined it with his successful boutique Tuesdays.

“My challenge was to make this thing work for my customers coming here and these customers coming here for generations,” Ron Morneault said. “So that was a challenge.”

The 80-year-old owner said he is ready to step back from daily operations.
