HAMILTON, Ohio —
A Middletown man accused of hitting and killing a man in an August crash appeared in Butler County court for an arraignment.
A judge set bond for Nicholas Dearth at $200,000 before he was taken into custody. Advertisement
Dearth faces a number of charges, including two felony counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and one misdemeanor count of operating a vehicle under the influence.
Family members of Stephen Howard filled the courtroom, some seeing Dearth for the first time since the crash.
Howard's brother, Marc Howard said the judge's decision invokes more emotions for the grieving family.
"Nobody, none of us here are happy at all," Howard said in response to the bond set against Dearth.
