SCITUATE – As senior Chris DiMeo and his teammates took the field Thursday night, the conditions were less than ideal. However, there were bragging rights on the line.
Sophomore Tyler Stelljes returned the opening kickoff 70 yards for a touchdown, while the Sailors forced five turnovers as Scituate (7-1) claimed a share of the Patriot League (Fisher) title with a 21-7 victory over rival Hanover.
“Honestly, we had to play a complete game,” said Scituate coach Herb Devine. “Offense had to step up, do something. Special teams had to step up, do something, which – I’m glad they did.
