On Wednesday, President Donald Trump announced on his social media site that the “process will begin immediately” to resume testing of nuclear weapons.
“Absolutely not. I’ll be introducing legislation to put a stop to this,” Nevada Democratic U.S. Rep. Dina Titus responded on social media.
“This directly contradicts the commitments I secured from Trump nominees — and the opinion of Administration officials who certify our nuclear stockpile — who’ve told me explosive nuclear testing would not happen & is unnecessary,” said Nevada Democratic U.S. Sen. Jacky Rosen , adding “I’ll fight to stop this.”
