Students, families urge school board to keep neighborhoods together in proposed redistricting

Students and families on Wednesday gave impassioned pleas to the Frederick County Board of Education to keep their neighborhood communities together as the vote on a proposed redistricting inches closer.

The redistricting is intended to balance enrollment between Linganore Creek Elementary School, a new school scheduled to open in August 2026, and the overcrowded Oakdale Elementary School.
