TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —With SNAP benefits set to face disruption next month due to the government shutdown, local community groups are preparing to meet increased demand for food assistance.
The Jack and Mary Zarybnisky Foundation delivers food to area schools once or twice weekly to ensure students have meals Thursday through Sunday when school breakfast and lunch programs are unavailable.
“Once a week, sometimes twice a week we deliver food to the different schools here in this area, so that the kids - the students have something to eat on Thursday afternoon, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday when they’re not in school getting breakfast or lunch,” said Jack Zarybinsky, founder of the Jack and Mary Zarybinsky Foundation.
