ROSEBURG. Ore. - Local food pantries are getting overwhelming and running out of resources as the Nov. 1 deadline to fund SNAP benefits approaches.

"Many of our shoppers come in and say that other pantries are closing because they don't have the food to keep up," said Jenn Reida, executive director of FISH Food Pantry in Roseburg. "So they're closing early because they're running out of food. Some of them are in danger of closing altogether because they just can't keep up with the pace of what's going on currently."

"We are breaking records for how many times how many families are coming into shop. Last week alone, we did 823 families," Reida said about their highest weekly total since the pantry opened in 1971.
