HANCOCK COUNTY, Ill. (WGEM) - A man was stabbed at Los Charros in Carthage on Monday, according to the Carthage Police Department.

Police said at about 12:30 p.m., they responded to a call from Los Charros, at 543 Main Street, reporting an employee had been stabbed.

Police reported a man was taken to Memorial Hospital in Carthage and was later transferred by Air-Evac to Iowa City, Iowa.

According to police, they identified 33-year-old Adrian P. Cobaxin, of Carthage, as the suspect.

Police said they located Cobaxin at his apartment, where they arrested him for aggravated battery resulting in great bodily harm and aggravated battery using a deadly weapon.

Cobaxin was in court on Thursday at 11 a.m. for an initial appearance. At the hearing, a petition was filed to deny pretrial release.
