GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) - Homeward Bound of the Grand Valley just announced their North Avenue emergency homeless shelter will soon be shutting its doors.

That's according to a press release issued this morning by the organization which cites scarcities in federal funding and the ongoing state budget crisis as some of the reasons for reduced operations.

In the meantime, due to a recent influx of donations Homeward Bound calls "unprecedented", they were able to raise $150,000, funds which will keep the shelter open 7 days a week starting November 7th through January 5th.
