Claire Danes and Ewan McGregor have been tapped to lead “ The Spot ,” Hulu’s upcoming drama series headed by screenwriter Ed Solomon. The series comes from A24 as the lead studio, in co-production with 20th Television.

Danes’ casting comes after Kate Winslet exited the project in June, reportedly for creative differences. Winslet, who has led the HBO series “The Regime” and “Mare of Easttown” over recent years, had been set to executive produce on “The Spot” via her Juggle Productions banner.

The logline for “The Spot” teases a story that follows “a successful surgeon and her schoolteacher husband that begin to suspect that she may be responsible for a child’s hit-and-run death” and a growing number of suspicions that begin to challenge their marriage.
