DUXBURY, Mass. —

A string of recent car thefts and break-ins in Duxbury, Massachusetts, has residents on edge.

According to Duxbury police, they received reports of four stolen vehicles and more than a dozen car break-ins during the early morning hours of Oct. 30. Three of the stolen vehicles have since been recovered.

Just after midnight, police say two suspects attempted to enter a vehicle on Walker Road.

The suspects fled, but responding officers found that the car was reported stolen out of Marshfield.

As officers searched the area, dispatch received another report of suspicious activity about 5 miles away on Bay Road.

This time, a suspect fleeing on foot got into a stolen car and sped away with another suspect who was also in a separate stolen vehicle, according to investigators
