CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) -- Year four of the Shauna Green era for Illinois women's basketball got off to a strong start with a 79-60 win over Maryville in an exhibition game.
A pair of freshmen got the start for the Orange and Blue: Cearah Parchment and Destiny Jackson.
Parchment led the team in scoring with 22 points, plus 13 rebounds, while Jackson had nine points.
Other Illini players in double figures were Gretchen Dolan (17) and Berry Wallace (11).
Illinois shot 6-of-14 from three-point range, holding a 36-28 advantage on rebounds.
The Orange and Blue are back in action on Tuesday against SEMO to open up the regular season with tip-off slated for 6 p.m.
