A man was found to be carrying a handgun after he was shot and killed on Thursday evening, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.

Just after 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct 30, officers were on patrol in West Philadelphia when they heard gunshots coming from the 4900 block of Reno Street, Chief Inspector Scott Small said. At the same time, the department received a 911 call reporting the gunshots.
