BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WBOY) — A train passing through downtown Bridgeport struck a vehicle at the railroad crossing on Main Street.

It happened around 9:30 Thursday night.

A CSX worker on site told 12 News the train struck a vehicle, but was unsure if anyone was injured in the collision.

Traffic along Main Street was blocked both ways because of the incident.

Officials say they plan to try and back the train up to help clear the scene.

The Bridgeport Police and Fire Departments responded to the incident.
