ICAN to honor veterans, raise funds

The Indiana Canine Assistant Network, also known as ICAN, will host its inaugural Salute to Service 5K and Family Walk this weekend to honor veterans and raise funds to provide highly trained service dogs at no cost to qualifying recipients.

ICAN is Indiana’s only accredited service dog organization. Henry, an ICAN service dog in training named in honor of the late Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry, will serve as grand marshal.

Registration and other activities will begin at noon Sunday at Kreager Park, 7225 N. River Road, Fort Wayne. The race will begin at 2 p.m.
