CLEVELAND, Ohio — With 190,000 Cuyahoga County residents facing the imminent loss of federal food assistance amid an ongoing government shutdown, a coalition of civic, corporate and philanthropic leaders is banding together to fill the gap.

U.S. Rep. Shontel Brown, Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne and Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb will join other local leaders Friday to announce the creation of a major emergency fund aimed at helping residents who will soon lose their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.
